Toolamba No 3103

Head Teacher William J Tynan opened the school on 20th of May 1891 in a portable building
without quarters. Some of the pupils who attended the school came from the Pouge, Farrell,
McKenzie, Cummings and McLeod families. There were 60 children at this time. Toolamba was
the only school within 2 miles of the township. The building now over eighty years old, consisted
of one room situated on 1 acre of land. Some children rode ponies or bicycles to school and
others walked. The school closed on 8th of September 1903.
